I took this picture of Grover from Sesame Street in November of 2019. It's the first thing I thought of when tinking about decay. I worked backwards from this image which led me to use Kermit as well.
I was also inspired by this video.
I couldn't get used to drawing digitally, so I drew on a whiteboard and on
paper, and took pictures with my phone. Most of the backgrounds are done
in pencil on paper and the characters are drawn on the whiteboard.
Here are the images I ended up using.
Here are some of the images I ended up not using. I wasted a lot of paper.
I edited and colored everything using the paint bucket tool in Photoshop in one giant messy project.
I recorded the music with my ukulele and my phone. I used Audacity to make
each file exactly twenty seconds. I tried to use a microphone, but there
was a lot of static that I couldn't get rid of, so I just my phone mic. I
think the poor quality kind of works, but it's unlistenable on my laptop
speakers.
Here are the raw video files including an alternative song I was going to
use for love.
I put everything together in Premiere, which was a new challenge for me,
especially the zooms in the Coincidence video. I learned how to use key
frames.
I made the poems using p5.js and embeded the sketches. Each word of the poem
is in an array and each click makes the next word appear. Once the it
reaches the end, the first word is deleted and it creates a loop.
Here's one of the the sketches.
